Two People Talking
"Why do I matter? Art can offer something that politics can't, that business can't. You can see a play, watch a dance, read literature—anything—and say, 'This is how I feel. This is me."
- Olafur Eliasson
Two people talking and listening—really talking and listening—is art.
It's dance.
It's singing.
It's jazz.
It's theatre.
It's improvisation.
It's writing.
It's painting.
It's an act of creativity and creation, and we don't realize the power of it.
Instead, the comment section types "GROSS".
"You're a joke!" says the man to his neighbor.
"Liar!" says the speaker at the podium.
But what if we woke up tomorrow, instead of being committed to conflict, committed to approach the act of communication like a work of art? Like a sacred space, holy enough to take off our sandals and speak in a whisper?
Every conversation could be a moment that could change a life. A moment where someone, instead of seeing a play or a dance or a painting, sees a person and says, "This is how I feel. This is me."
A work of art that could change the world.
